Automation is already deployed in some parts of communications service providers’ (CSPs) network infrastructure via script. However it is hard to maintain those codes so as to fit to very fragile operational environment having daily change in network and service configuration and very little to reuse codes for automation. To solve those, we need to introduce AI empowered E2E 5G operational architecture having AI service management standard, data model and training repository. We know that we are successful when those are to be implemented leading to right procedure and decisions without coding each process and decision for automation.

End-to-end AI-empowered operational architecture is essential to deliver the 5G network required by the emerging enterprise 5G customer market. This Catalyst will focus on delivering this and reducing the cost of coding in automation. This includes Planning AI to translate customer intent into a network requirement; Delivering the network infrastructure; closed-loop automation of root cause analysis and fault detection; and workflow generation for fault management.
